ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Facility requiring overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Gas Pressure & Measurement Superintendent, assigns scheduled work to specific crews and individuals. Provides quality assurance and review of work order documentation. Screens and approves work requests, assign daily work duties as needed, and insure accurate documentation of planned and emergency work, including associated on-the-job training requirements. Supervise and train Instrumentation Technicians in overhauling regulator relief valves, maintain electronic injection pump odorizers and keeping records up to date for the Department of Transportation. Maintain over 217 regulator and relief valves under the Texas Railroad Commission rules and regulations. Monitor regulators and insure proper pressure is maintained (under map) in the City system from gas suppliers. Operate and inspect meter runs, collect gas/flow measurement data, create reports. Perform functions independently in the assigned area of responsibility, conduct or witness testing. Assist in the design of regulator stations for new subdivisions and installation of pipe mains for flow capacities. Update and maintain electronic measurement database and provide reports as requested, including programming and set up of access to data bases and spreadsheets.

Uses the computerized work management system to screen work request's, establish work priorities, and review work and on-the-job training documentation. Participate in regular strategic planning, multi-skilled work training, and planning. Provide technical leadership for multi-skilled work force. Work with project managers, contractors, representatives, and engineers to ensure effective execution of projects and work assignments. Supervise and monitor the performance of multi-skilled workers at various levels. Monitor purchases of materials and equipment to maintain quality control and compliance with City financial policies, maintain adequate supplies of all materials and equipment. Assist in the hiring process, developing job descriptions, pre-employment interviews, assist in the discipline of subordinate staff.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school, or the equivalent, and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in gas pressure and measurement; operation and maintenance. Applicant must have a valid driver's license at the time of application and time of hire.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.

Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
