Salary: $1,542.03 - $2,677.42 biweekly

ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating work week Monday - Friday. 8:00am - 5:00pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Provide comprehensive Human Resources support by ensuring compliance with City policies and procedures pertaining to compensation, recruitment, employment practices, employee grievances, and other City policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with Human Resources policies by conducting investigations pertaining to policy violation allegations and preparing fact finding reports. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws by investigating City employee EEOC charges, harassment claims and grievances and following Civil Service Rules and Regulations concerning personnel policies and procedures. Administer compensation plans by implementing and sustaining Skill Based Pay Programs and Career Ladders for City departments. Determine labor market competitiveness by conducting annual market analysis pay studies and reporting data using Excel spreadsheets. Assist Human Resources staff with the development and implementation of policies and procedures, job descriptions, and long-range plans within the Human Resources Department and Civil Service Board Rules and Regulations. Assist the Human Resources department by conducting City wide training on City policies as needed and assist with supervision of staff in the absence of the Human Resources Administrator. Assist City supervisors by administering the City's drug and alcohol policies after regular business hours and on weekends. May also be assigned to special departmental and/or City wide projects. Consulting with departments on performance and disciplinary issues, conducting investigations, where appropriate, following City policy and the Civil Service Board Rules and Regulations. Maintains authorization for City wide budgeted positions through established position control procedures.
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of work related experience in the essential functions or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid class C driver's license at time of application and time of hire.
Basis of Rating
Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
