Job Title: INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER - 9819

Position Summary:

Qualifications: Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or a closely related field. Two years of instructional design experience. One year experience designing, developing, and implementing interactive e-learning programs/courseware. Additional experience may be used as a substitute for the education requirement.


Demonstrated ability to specify learning objectives and develop and deliver training materials and assessments that are aligned to those objectives. Demonstrated ability to understand and meet customer and stakeholder needs. Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience applying learning management systems such as Blackboard; e-learning tools such as MS Office, Elluminate, Presenter, iTunesU, Sharepoint, Articulate, and webinar delivery; and interactive development tools such as Adobe CS - Photoshop, Director, Premiere, Flash Catalyst; and collaboration platforms such as portals, SL, blogs, wikis, etc. Skills in Captivate, Articulate, and/or Flash preferred (or equivalent Elearning software), for the use in development of instructional content.


Job Duties:Develop and deliver professional development for faculty and support services for students. Conduct Blackboard trainings, student engagement, assessments, and interactions in online learning environments. Teach students how to learn online and how to use the tools associated with online learning


Conduct distance education and e-learning training for faculty and staff.


Design instruction. Coordinate with faculty to establish performance-based objectives, course structure, learning activities, and assessments.


Analyze needs of faculty, students, and academic units for instructional support related to distance education.


Evaluate on-line instruction, faculty trainings, on-line instruction and training materials, and the effectiveness of activities of the Office of Distance Education.
